Changing Waves

The sun rises on a new day.
Rays of light reflect off white sand.
Seagulls flutter their wings
and fly off in search of a meal.
It’s a clear bright day.

A lone stranger
Appears at the
edge of happiness.
Slowly, he walks
across the white sand,
warming his feet.
Looking out
to the beautiful sea,
he notices,
that today, the waves
are magnificent.
Today, he enjoys himself.
The sun sets behind beauty.

The sun rises on a new day.
Rays of light reflect off white sand.
Seagulls flutter their wings
and fly off in search of a meal.
It’s a clear bright day.

The lone stranger returns.
The bright sand
warms his feet.
Looking out again,
he’s disappointed.
The melody of the sea
doesn’t pass through his hears.
Today, he is sad.
The sun sets in front of beauty.

The sun rises on a new day.
Rays of light reflect off white sand.
Seagulls flutter their wings
and fly off in search of a meal.
It’s a clear bright day.

He returns.
Today he smiles.
The sun sets behind beauty.
Again he returns.
That day he frowns.
The sun sets in front of beauty.
Every other day it’s the same.
He’s frustrated.

P.S. Normally, when I post poems, they usually reflect how I'm feeling. However, with this poem and the next few poems, that fact won't be true, considering I've been away from the computer a few days. So don't believe I'm frustrated at this point, or whatever emotion that may come up. Actually I am frustrated, frustrated at the fact that memorizing Spanish lines is not fun.
